He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Walter and Hazel Walter (Wilkins); his granddaughter Abigail Hixson; and his brothers, Daniel and Timothy Walter.
He is survived by: his wife Beth Phillips; his children, Jeffrey Walter (Rebecca Rasmussen) and Melanie Simpson (John); his grandchildren, Alexis Ryan (Mitchell), Elijah Simpson (Emily) and Cora Walter; his great grandchildren, Margot, Nora, Ivy and Hattie; and his siblings, Mark Walter (Nancy), Jon "Doug" Walter (Marion) and Laurie Hadley (Dan).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dick may be made to Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries or Heritage Christian Academy.
