It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita J. Malvitz in Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Rita has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Andersen and Alexandria Andersen (Sundholm); her husband Dr. Raymond Malvitz; her brother Gordon Andersen; and her grandson Mitchell Niemi.
She is survived by: her sons, Bruce Niemi (Ann) of Allegan, Thomas Niemi (Joy) of Otsego and Timothy Niemi of Kalamazoo; and her stepchildren, Dr. Thomas Malvitz (Christine) of Ada, Lynn Khadija of Grand Rapids and Susan Rosser of Lansing. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
