He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Balik and Helen Balik (Bouska); his significant other Catherine Rausch Kuennen; and his brothers, Tony Balik (Jane) and Jerry Balik.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Balik; his stepchildren, Colleen Kuennen and Kelly Kuennen (Cathy); his grandchildren, John Dugan (Madison), Jimi Dugan (Autumn), Alexis Kuennen and Victoria Kuennen; his great grandchild Leo Dugan; and his siblings, Kay Lowe, Joan Balik, Ruth Bernatz (Tom), David Balik, Mary Balik, Mark Balik (Paulette), Steve Balik (Terri) and Lynn Balik. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A reception will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes (3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009).
