He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. Petersen and Louwina Petersen (Dykehouse); his wife Georgia Petersen; and his brother Paul Petersen. He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Petersen (Ford Palm) and Cynthia Fleck (Clinton); his grandchildren, Dominic Petersen, Maia Fleck (Oscar) and Lindsay Fleck; and his brothers, David Petersen (Kathleen) and Dennis Petersen (Karen).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services (622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the East Cooper Cemetery (1590 D Ave E, Kalamazoo, MI 49009). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the East Cooper Cemetery East (1590 D Ave E, Kalamazoo, MI 49009).
