He was predeceased by: his parents, Andy DeVries and Gertrude DeVries (Slager); his grandson Andrew John DeVries; his brother Jack DeVries; and his nephew Jack DeVries Jr..
He is survived by: his former spouse Maudy Griffioen; his wife Pearl Lanier (Gray); his friend Bob Groscost; his sons, Rick DeVries (Jennifer), Scott DeVries (Jodi), Bob Lanier (Tina) and James Lanier; his grandchildren, Ryan DeVries, Brittney Lanier (Richard), Rachel DeVries (Ethan Harlow), Mason DeVries, Colin DeVries and Josh DeVries; his stepgrandchildren, Antonio Lopez (Crystal), Georgio Lopez and Sergio Lopez; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cason, Arianna, Sofia, Mia and Isabella; and his sister-in-law Ann DeVries.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes - Westside Chapel (3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethany Reformed Church (1833 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49001).
