He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Nelson and Bessie Nelson (Dowell); his children, Ron Meyer (Nancy) of Portage and Casie Harris of Gainesville, GA; his grandchildren, Jason Vander Zwaag, Amber Spehar, Kyle Byers, Ashly Place and Zakry Meyer; and his brothers, Alan Nelson (Diane) and Roger Nelson (Brenda). He was also cherished by 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Arbor Hospice, in c/o the funeral home.
