Wallace Homer Matthies Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on June 19, 2025, at the age of 102, Wallace Homer Matthies (Kalamazoo, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Wallace Homer may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Wallace Homer touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Matthies and Cornelia Matthies (VanKernengen); his wife Charlyn June Matthies; and his daughter Becky Matthies. He is survived by: his sons, Bob Matthies, Dan Matthies and Joe Matthies; and his siblings, Virginia Lum and John Kubeck.
