With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Jay Klerk Jr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on March 6, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his brothers, Jim and Jack Klerk. He is survived by : his children, Christine Broberg (Scott), Tommy Klerk (Kelly) and Jonathan Klerk; his grandchildren, Kelly Van Winkle (Jon), Allison Broberg, Andrew, Oliver Klerk, Saylar, Eleanor and Evelyn Klerk; his great grandchildren, Natalie and Parker Lehrer; his brother Larry Klerk (Sue); and also Dawson Pettigrew. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Bill and his family have been close families friends our entire lives . Bill was legendary 210 sailor and was quick to share many of his secrets on how to sail faster and win races. He was also a great historian of the 210 fleet and Gull Lake Yacht Club and always had stories to share after a long day of racing. He will never be forgotten.
