A private family gathering is being planned. Bill will be laid to rest at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to American Stroke Foundation, in c/o the funeral home.

William "Bill" D. Patient age 55 of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday afternoon March 29, 2026. Bill was born in Columbia, MO, on June 17, 1970, the son of Gary and Doris (Fike) Patient, who survive him. Bill received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management from Robert B. Miller College. He worked for many years in the telecommunications industry. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling and had bowled several 300 games. He also liked playing frisbee golf and was in a hatchet throwing league. Besides his parents, Bill is survived by his siblings Dan (Rose) Patient, Diana (Kendy) Mueller and Steve (Leslie) Patient; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.

“Billy P. was one of very favorite people on the planet. We met when I was 19 and he was 20. He lived in the apartment above us. We started a band together, created art, played sports, made ice sculptures, went on camping trips and had extensive recording sessions. We’d make each other laugh until we’d cry and have deep intense conversations until the sun came up. Even after I moved to CA in 2002, we stayed in touch and would talk on the phone for 8 hours at a time. Billyworld FOREVER. 💜”
