Yancy D. Barrett Obituary

Cremation will take place and private family remembrances will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bronson Foundation or any Kalamazoo County Homeless Organization.

Mr. Yancy D. Barrett age 57, of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away at Bronson Hospital on December 12, 2025. He was born in Kalamazoo on September 24, 1968, the son of the late John Barrett and Martha Yancy. Yancy loved the freedom of life and spending time outdoors. He was especially fond of animals and loved his pet dogs. He had a passion for music, especially heavy metal and was a gifted guitarist and drummer. Though faced with many challenges Yancy was loved by those closest to him and will never be forgotten. He is survived by his daughter, Lexi Barrett-Good; sister, Lisa (Jimmy) Grimm; cousins, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a sister, Susan Denice Barrett.
