He was predeceased by: his parents, John Birly and Mary Birly; and his sisters, Dorothy and Fran. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Birly; his sons, Gary Birly, Dan Birly, Ron Birly, Jim Birly and Michael Birly (Jan); his grandchildren, Sean and Mikaela; and his brother John.
