He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence E. Pender Sr. and Bertha Minton Pender; his siblings, Charlie Pender, Clarence E. Pender Jr., Carley Pender (Yvonne), Iceal Wheeler and Virginia Weeks; and his grandsons, Robert Douglas Clay Jr. and Adam Wayne Clay.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Keeton Pender; his children, Sharon Chism, Karen Clay and John Grace (Anita); his grandchildren, April McKenzie Chism, Skyelar Rines and Sarah Grace; his great grandchild Mason Yount; and his sister Mary Harrison. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
