He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Chism and Robert Lee Chism; his daughters, Debbie Howe and Misty Chism; and his grandson Josh Jeremy Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Chism; his children, Andy Chism, Scotty Chism, Todd Howe and Cathy Thomas; and his sister Henrietta Smith. He is also survived by 12 granchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
