It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Todd Ashe of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, who passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 48, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Gene Elmore Ashe; his granddaughter McKenzie Alazay Hutchins; and his grandparents, Joseph Donald Shehan, Miles and Bessie Ashe.
He is survived by: his significant other Darla Ashe; his daughters, Niki Hutchins, Shasta Boyd, Sarah McKinney and Rebekah Hutchins; his grandchildren, Dalven Hutchins, Jarvis Hutchins, Jabar Mayse, Michael Wilson, Carson Praytor, Junior Montgomery, Marcus McKinney, Kaden Hutchins, Dakota Hutchins, Haley Wilson and Alaina Hutchins; his great grandchild Lana Hutchins; his mother Patricia Ann Ashe Walker; his parent-in-law Marshal Walker; his siblings, Robert Gene Ashe and Marsha Gail Yelton; and his grandmother Annette Shehan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
