He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Eunice Crow Mills. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Ann Ammons Mills; his daughters, Marianne Mills and Teresa Paige Wood (Jon); his sisters, Cathy Skudlarick and Shelah Moore; his grandchildren, Cayla Faith Childers, David Todd Childers and Jay Daniel Mills; and his great grandchildren, Karson Zane Childers, Gavin Roper and Wilder Childers.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Crowe's Funeral Chapel (118 College Ave, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A reception was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at the Adaville Baptist Church Cemetery.
