He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lathad Simmons and Magaleen Ross; his stepfather Robert Rutherford; his grandparents, Ola K. Ross and Reece Simmons; and his brothers, Lewis Simmons, Nathaniel Hampton, Paul Hampton and Heyward Ross.

He is survived by: his close friend Gigi McSwain; his children, Tralarus Ross (Wynee) of Charlotte, N. C., Roddric Ross of Caroleen, N. C., Takeyla Blanton (Antonio) of Charlotte, N. C. and Rashada Blanton of Forest City, NC; and his siblings, Tony Ross (Angie) of Forest City, N. C., Ronnie Ross (Shanna) of Charlotte, N. C. and Tina Mosley of Asheville, N. C. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends.
