She was predeceased by: her parents, Ransom C. Flynn and Bertha Flynn; and her brother Jimmy Lee Flynn (David Boyd Ellis). She is survived by: her sister Martha Hunt of Rutherfordton, NC; her sons, Tim Burns (Jennifer) of Stanley, NC and Tyler Burns (Nicole) of Iron Station, NC; her grandchildren, Micah Jones, Jordan Burns, Aubrey Burns, Katie Burns, Tanner Burns, Landon Burns and Garrett Burns; her great grandchildren, Beau, Alexandra, Hayden and Cameron Jones; and her sister-in-law Darlene Ellis of Clover, SC..

Any contributions in memorial may be made to The Southern Baptist Church in Rutherfordton or any local Hospice organization, honoring Kay's commitment to her community and faith.
