The memory of Mildred McPherson (Rutherfordton, North Carolina), who passed away on May 11, 2024 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by : her significant other Saul Lindberg McPherson; her parents, Arthur Owens and Doshie Sims Owens; and her siblings, Mack Owens, Martin Owens, Gus Owens, Troy Owens and Magdalene Thompson.

She is survived by : her sons, Jerry McPherson (Betsy), Mike McPherson (Debbie) and Warren McPherson (Nancy); her grandchildren, Clint McPherson, Jessica Matthews and Matthew McPherson; and her great grandchildren, Weston Matthews, Maddie McPherson, Camden McPherson and William Matthews (Ray Morgan).

Visitation was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Crowe's Funeral Chapel (118 College Ave, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church (191 Green St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139).
