With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ray Richards (Rutherfordton, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 5, 2025 at the age of 85. Though Ray has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clemmie Roy and Leila Chapman Richards; his wife Ann Skipper Richards; his sisters, Mildred Brittain (Bill) and Margie Gettys (Frank); and his pet Shorty.
He is survived by: his daughter Dena Richards Ramsey (Terry) of Forest City, NC; his grandson Josh Pruitt of Wake Forest, NC; and his sister Edith Monday (David) of Morganton, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well as a number of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Green River Baptist Church (2880 Ken Miller Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at the Green River Baptist Church Cemetery (2880 Ken Miller Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139).
