He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry Guffey and Christine Harklerode Guffey; his granddaughter Hayleigh Vance; and his siblings, Todd, Bryan Guffey and Becky Fulenwider.

He is survived by: his wife Lisa Edwards Guffey of Rutherfordton; his children, Richard Neal Guffey II, Stephanie Vance (Keith) and Christina Deal (Cory); his siblings, Donald Guffey (Deborah) and Beth Wilson (Mitch); his grandchildren, Preston Vance, Braxton Vance, Emaleigh Vance, Jaxton Vance and Emberleigh Deal; and his siblings-in-law, Rusty Fulenwider, Betty and Ann Guffey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The charity of choice is the Ronald McDonald House 706 Grove Rd Greenville, SC 29605.
