He is survived by: his wife Joyce Smith Thompson; his children, Terri Hullen (Bill) and Randy Thompson; his grandsons, Allen Thompson and Brett Jackson; and his great grandchild Hudson Thompson.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Second Baptist Church (191 Green St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
