He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Herda Sr. and Ethel Benson Herda; and his wife Yvonne Herda. He is survived by: his son Brandon Herda (Nicole) of Spring, Texas; his grandchildren, Sophie and Ben Herda; his sister Ellen Connor (Mike) of Devils Lake; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Vetsch (Joe) of Devils Lake, Christy Werner of Devils Lake, Walt Staigle of Deland, Florida, Charmayne Leinius (Randy) of Center, Patty Wilkens (Blake) of Hannover, Darcy Rainey (Allen) of Orlando, Florida and Bob Staigle (Evanda) of Verrado, Arizona..
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gilbertson Funeral Home (509 U. S. Rte 2, Devils Lake, ND 58301). A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery (1825 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554).
