It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas E. Alfstad of Devils Lake, North Dakota, who passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Douglas departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Douglas. Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis E. Alfstad and Dorothy A. Alfstad (Zacher); and his brother Deon Lee Alfstad. He is survived by: his brother Darin "Rabbit" Alfstad of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; his daughter Shelby Rose Leaf Bellile; his uncle Ron Alfstad (Ingrid); and his aunts, Carol "Blondie" Grad (Bob) and Gladys Kuntz. He is also survived by cousins and good friends.
