He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfton Olson and Luella Olson (Johnson); his brothers, Duane Olson and Earl Olson; his grandsons, Zachary Cole and Benjamin Merck; and his children-in-law, Joan Gratton Olson and Jerome Cole.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Wilhelmi-Hager; his children, Deborah Cole, Todd Olson (Sheila), Linda Merck (Mark) and Kirk Olson (Billie); his grandson Andrew Cole; his stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Basnet (Biraj) and Kevin Medeiros; his great grandchildren, Evi Medeiros, Rex Medeiros, Sonnetta Basnet and Meadow Basnet; his siblings, Lola Schlieve and Marlo Olson; and his sisters-in-law, Jo Olson and Bonnie Padilla. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
