It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura V. McCarthy in Devils Lake, North Dakota, born in Selz, North Dakota, who passed away on July 6, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John Keller and Anna Keller (Fleck); her husband Jack McCarthy; her siblings, MaryAnn Schiele (Bert), Lenore Olson (Art), Loretta Buchmeier (Tony), Louisa Morse (Clarence) and Clarence Keller (Gloria); and her brother-in-law James Thompson.

She is survived by : her children, John McCarthy, Paul McCarthy (Abbey), Katherine Axdahl (Tyler), Mary McPhail (Jon) and Colleen Ranum (Curt); her sister Jane Thompson; her grandchildren, Jeremy McCarthy (Ashley), Justin McCarthy (Carley), Meghan Nelson (Riley), Nathan Axdahl (Jennifer), Bryce Axdahl, Collin Axdahl, Jacob McPhail, Riley McPhail, Alivia McCarthy, Annika McCarthy, Madeline McCarthy, Owen Ranum and Finn Ranum; and her great grandchildren, Cayden, Jack, Emma, Lauren, Quinn and Andi.

In Laura's memory, memorial donations may be sent to St Joseph Catholic School at 824 10th Ave NE in Devils Lake, ND 58301.
