She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Hjelden and Olga Hjelden (Ness); her former husband Darrell Lee Burdick (Glenn); her children, Daniel Overby and Sandra Mattson; her son-in-law Gary Mattson; her siblings, Janice Bonn, Joyce Greene, Clarice Cramer and Myron Hjelden; her brothers-in-law, Kenny Bonn and Richard Cramer; and her great grandchild Christopher Medlang.
She is survived by: her spouse Glenn Evan Overby; her family, Mavis and Glenn; her children, Debra Jasper of Fargo, ND, Paul Overby (Diane) of Wolford, ND, Steven Overby (Lisa) of Gorman, TX and Trudy Eide (Tom) of Fargo, ND.; her grandchildren, Clifton Mattson (Alicia), Rhonda Kittleson, Heath Mattson (Andrea), Andrea Bardell (Dan), Dusty Mattson (Samantha), Kimberly Norkus (Jake), Cody Mattson (Kali), Casey Mattson (Kari Fritel), Scott Jasper (Sheryl Sierakowski), Chris Jasper, Jeff Jasper (Nikki), Ryan Jasper (Allison), Marit Meland (Brian), Jake Overby (Amy), Andrew Overby, Karissa Eide, Margo Eide, Amanda Hughley (Jonathan), Erik Eide (David) and Britta Schuh (Rhonda); her siblings, Rodney Hjelden (Diane), Jerry Hjelden, David Hjelden (Mary), Jim Hjelden (Audrey) and Ardis Christianson (Curtis); Jacob'Jake'Lee, Paul, Daniel, Steven and Trudy. She is also survived by 34 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bisbee Lutheran Church (405 Washington St, Cando, ND 58324).
Memorials may be directed to the Gideons Auxiliary, Lutheran World Relief, Messiah's Lutheran Hour of Worship, Metigoshe Ministries or World Mission Prayer League in memory of Mavis.
