We are sad to announce that on February 26, 2020, at the age of 80, Richard Volk (Devils Lake, North Dakota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Volk and Marcella Volk (Lemer); his son Allen; his siblings, Margaret Barstad, Walburga Wallace, Loretta O'Connell, Frank, Leo and Thomas Volk; and his parents-in-law, Joseph and Mary Ann Senger.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Senger; his children, Wanda Archer of Superior, CO, James Volk (Veronica), Denver and Brian Volk (Tracie); his grandchildren, Maxwell Volk, Nolan, Nixen and Maizie Volk; his siblings, Mary Riley of Fargo, ND, James Volk (Janet), Kathryn Obermiller (Earl) and David Volk (Joyce); his parents-in-law, Edward Senger (Emma) of Santa Maria, CA, Johanna Maggard, Mary Jane Volk (Kenneth), Aiken and Shirley Faber; and his close friend Ron Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

“In loving memory of Richard Volk, To one of the most influential people in my life: you have no idea how hard this is to write! As I was feeding my cows, I received the "call". I answered with enthusiasm: "Hey buddy! How are you?" I met silence on the other end. I am at a loss for words. I immediately felt your loss! Thank you for giving me advice with agriculture, cows, trucking, and most important ,instilling a work ethic!. No matter the time or distance, I always looked forward to your phone calls. You helped me to find my lost dog while driving me home from Crookston! You always had time to help me with mechanics, trucks, cows, and an occasionally an a$$ chewing. Thank you for opening your home with a warm bed and shop tools! You are instrumental in helping young people with the agricultural way of life including my journey to Montana!
