He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Maloney and Eileen Maloney (Kain); his son Jack Maloney; his grandson Scott Maloney; his stepson David Nelson; his grandson Blake Skadsem; and his sisters, Mary Plog and Pat Fredericks.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Nelson; his children, Terry Maloney, Matthew Maloney of Sheyenne, ND and Kristi Hoey; his grandchildren, Dylan Bosak (Sarah), Ashley Maloney of Fargo, Ramsey Hoey of Fargo, Parker Keller (Matt) of Fargo, Julian Hoey of Fargo, Jade Hoey of Fargo, Cody Nelson and Courtney Nelson of Arizona; his great grandchildren, Uriah, Micah and Jones of Bismarck; his sister Marge Nelson; his siblings-in-law, Lois Nelson and Edwin Sobak of Devils Lake; and also Daniel Nelson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gilbertson Funeral Home (509 U. S. Rte 2, Devils Lake, ND 58301). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (517 4th St NE, Devils Lake, ND 58301).
