It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Winona E. Fox of Fort Totten, North Dakota, who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Alberts and Alvina Alberts (Jerome); her husband Laidman Fox Sr.; her children, Lavonne Alberts, Lynn SpottedWolf, Laverne Ironroad (Fox), Linda Fox, Leann Rose Fox, Leonard Fox and Lee Fox; her siblings, Christopher "Buddy" Alberts, Allen Alberts, Roger Alberts, Quentin Alberts, Joseph Alberts, Marie Martin, Virginia Lancelotta and Lynda Alberts; and her in-laws, Joseph and Susie Fox.
She is survived by: her children, Lenore WhiteLightning, LaDonna Fox and Laidman Fox Jr.; her sister Sally Cavanaugh; her adoptive children, Joseph Lafferty, Cornell GoodThunder, TJ PlentyChief, Alan Demery, Richard Street, Marty Alex, Larry SpottedHorse, Mitchell SpottedHorse, Reba Mack, Jeannie Cavanaugh, Dolly Azure and Sheila Littleghost; and her family, Joy Davidson, Darcy Delorme, Robert Moe, Scott Jensen, Tonya Fox, Benji GoodBird, Birdie Fox, Simone Fox and Babe. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
A procession was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the City Plaza (210 U. S. Rte 2, Devils Lake, ND 58301). A wake was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Fort Totten Recreation Center (7296 ND-57, Fort Totten, ND 58335). A prayer was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
