He was predeceased by: his parents, Reinhard H. Kunkel and Recca Kunkel (Klick); his siblings, Gerald Kunkel (Georgina), Loren Kunkel (Mabel), Bonny, Edwin Hoime, Laurence Dykhoff, Donna Lind (John) and Bruce Kunkel (Barbara); his nephew Bryce Hoime; and his nieces, Geralyn Sheppard (Bill) and Misty Lind.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Dixie McGillis (Larry) of Portland, ND, Vicki Logan (Don), Kristy Hoime of Edmore, ND, Lori Pankratz (Kerwin), Rick Lind (Sandy), Garry Kunkel (Eileen) of Eugene, OR, Lorna Harbert (Jim), Dennis Kunkel (Jan) of LaPine, OR and Marcella Hurley (Bob); and his great-niece Kelsey Joy.
