She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Nemeth and Irene Gouger Nemeth; her son Howard Barnes; and her siblings, Ralph, Joseph, Robert, Howard, John and Hazel.

She is survived by: her children, Debra Barnes (NJ) of Milford, David Barnes (Jan) of Harmony, NC, Gary Read (Sammi) of Nazareth, PA and Perry Read (Janny) of Amsterdam; and her close friend William Stone. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 27 great -and 6 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. (111 Co Rd 106, Johnstown, NY 12095). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
