He was predeceased by: his parents, William McCabe and Mary McCabe (Gallagher); his brother David McCabe; his brother-in-law Donald Frering; his sister Maureen; and his brother-in-law Eddie Rhatigan.
He is survived by: his children, Jess Johnson (Karl), Libby Nowakowski (Scott) and Carrie McCabe (Matt Griffiths); his grandchildren, Molly Johnson, Kai Johnson, Mickey Nowakowski, Wes Previtera and Archie Nowakowski; his siblings, Bill McCabe (Anne), Maryellen Heuer (John), James McCabe and Anne Nordell (Eric); his sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Frering and Margie Groark; his aunt Jackie Gallagher; and his caregivers, Liz and Carolyn Whittaker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins.
