She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph J. Nantista and Joan M. Nantista; her husband John "Bud" Murphy Ill; and her sister Maureen Dowen (John). She is survived by: her children, John H. Murphy IV (Christine) and Christa Flaherty (Kevin); her siblings, Mary Ann Chiera (Mike), Joanne Nantista, Ellen Nantista (Russ), Joe Nantista (Jeanne), Nita Patane (Al) and Tony Nantista (Kim); her sisters-in-law, Joan Murphy and Janice Hunter (Tom); and her grandchildren, Samantha, Ellyana Murphy, Zachary, Gavin and Owen Flaherty. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
