He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick and Edith; and his brothers, Ralph and Robert. He is survived by: his wife Joanna Drinkwater; his children, Donald Drinkwater (Heather) and Sandra Presgraves (Andrew); his grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew), Samuel (Kelsey), William, Barton and Ruth; his sister-in-law Sue; his nephew Jon; and his niece Deborah. He is also survived by 4 grandnieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in his honor.
