She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Sr. Piela and Carmilla Piela; her husband Michael James; her son Christopher Doherty; her grandson Marshall Connor; and her brother Leonard Piela.
She is survived by: her children, Michele Gerhard (David) of Voorheesville, Julie Nooney (Clifford) of Feura Bush, Patrick Doherty (LeeAnn) of Guilderland and Kelly Connor (Bryan) of Ballston Spa; her grandchildren, Ryan Gerhard, Matthew Nooney, Rae Nooney (Quill), Meaghan Doherty, Kailyn Doherty, Carly Connor and Avery Connor; her brother Walter Piela, Jr. (Gloria); her cousin Joni O'Shaughnessy; her sisters, Barbara Norton (Robert), Thomas Doherty (Therese) and Kathleen Miller (Kurt); and her close friend Pat Reilly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
