He was predeceased by: his parents, Evan Gwyn Thomas and Harriet Barber Thomas; and his sister Andrea Leyden. He is survived by: his wife Deborah L. Fryc; his sister Margot Lucy Thomas; and his sibling's children, Michael Leyden (Sara Granstrom), Thomas Leyden (Melanie) and Kathryn Leyden Yund (George).
