She was predeceased by: her parents, John L. English and Jane Smith English; her husband John J. Hans, Jr.; and her brother John T. English. She is survived by: her children, John "Jay" Hans (Cathy) and Jane Wasserbach (Bill); and her grandchildren, Kaitlin Conway (Bill), John Hans (Jillian), Kelly Mitchell (Bobby), Sarah Hans, Kate Moore (Travis), Billy Wasserbach, Jack McCutchen and Jenna McCutchen. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was a member of the Board of Directors of St. Patrick's School, Troy; founding board member of Ladies of Charity of Albany, Board Member of the Carmelite Sister for the Aged and Infirm, and a founding board member of Teresian House Foundation.
