He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, John Googas and Eleftheria Googas; his wife Mary Pat Googas (Stackman); his children, Melissa O'Connor (Matt) and Andrea Hahn (Rob); his grandchildren, Ronan and Ava; his siblings, Christine Gianakos (Arthur) and James Googas (Mary); and his family John.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church (440 Whitehall Rd, Albany, NY 12208). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Attended Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Road, Albany, New York, 12208, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in memory of John C. Googas, Jr.
