He was predeceased by: his father Ignatius Yanas; his wife Mary Faith Casey of Albany; and his sister Marilyn Y. Burns. He is survived by: his children, Rev. John J Yanas, Kathleen (Bill Cunningham), Joseph and Patricia Rowlands (Bruce); his grandchildren, Kate Quaranto (Kevin), Chelsea Lacko (Chas), Nicole Anagnos and William Anagnos; and his great grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Jeannie Quaranto and Leah Lacko. He is also survived by niece, nephews and cherished friends.
In recognition of his many contributions to the school and community, he was awarded a Doctor of Laws degree (LL.D.) by the law school in 1989.
