He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Collins and Mildred Collins; and his sister Janet. He is survived by: his wife Elena Scripa Collins (Helen); his children, Mary Collins Harney and John M. Collins Jr.; his grandchildren, Nicole Collins, Erica Harney, Michael Harney and Daniel Harney; and his siblings-in-law, Virginia Varrone, Carmela Scripa and Lou Scripa (Rose). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
