He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Hynes and Julia Hynes; his sister Julie; his wife Monique Janson; and his son Michael.

He is survived by: his brother Peter (Anne) of Port Charlotte; his daughter-in-law Valerie Hynes of Niskayuna; his son John (Beth) of South Carolina; his nephew Kevin Hynes of Fort Myers; his grandchildren, Lauren Hynes-Mason (Carl) of Colonie, Rian Hynes of South Carolina and Devon Purzycki of South Carolina; his great grandchild Gianna Mason of Colonie; his caregiver Vanessa Moulton; Peter McDermott.
