He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Joseph A. Buff and Frances Buff (Storms); his siblings, Joseph, Frank, Jerome and Mary Mantica; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Buff, Suzanne Buff and Joyce Buff.

He is survived by: his children, Michael K. Buff (Kristin) and Esther Buff (Joseph Avellino Sr.); his grandchildren, Ruby, Henry, Joseph Jr. and Jordan; his siblings, Louis Buff (Kathleen), Bernard Buff (Roberta), Martin Buff, Robert Buff (Noreen), Susan Ciejka (William), Barbara Burns and Paul Buff; and his siblings-in-law, Beverly Buff and Paul Mantica. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
