He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nora Burke and James DeGroat; his wife Patti DeGroat (Mathews); his daughters, Mary Kate Vanasdale (DeGroat) and Colleen DeGroat; and his son-in-law Tim Vanasdale. He was also cherished by nephews, nieces, sister/brother-in-laws, and cousins.
