She was predeceased by: her parents, John Snyder and Laura Snyder; her husband Lester F. Schowe; her sister Joan Beckman; and her stepmother Elizabeth Hof Snyder.

She is survived by: her children, Donna Conners (R. Michael) and Scott Durland (Suzzette Solano); her granddaughters, Tina Forgea (Greg) and Mandy Conners; her great grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Forgea; her brother J. David Snyder (Betty); her brother-in-law Paul Beckman; her stepsister Dr. Margaret Nightingale; and her stepsons, Lester Schowe (Nadine), Richard Schowe (late Marylou), Ron Schowe (Jan Nuzzo) and Michael Schowe (Bonnie).

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Phyllis' name to Shriners Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
