He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Barrett, and Richard Barrett, Sr.; his brother Dennis Barrett (Anne); and his wife Kathleen Barrett (O'Brien). He is survived by: his children, Kerry Mendez (Wilson), Richard Barrett (Tara) and Katie O'Connor (Neil); his grandchildren, Kevin, Justin, Aidan Mendez, Ashley, Kendall, Owen Barrett, Ryan, Emma and Kara O'Connor; and his siblings-in-law, Bill O'Brien (Karen) and Joan Sandwick (Bill).
