He was predeceased by : his parents, William Swartz Sr. and Mildred Swartz (Houghtaling); and his wife Paula M. Swartz (Coe). He is survived by : his children, William H. Swartz III (Jennifer) of Slingerlands, NY and Kimberly Swartz Doyle (Thomas) of Burlington, VT; his granddaughters, Julianna R. Swartz, Isabella C. Swartz and Ella F. Doyle; his brother Henry Swartz (Winnie); and his pet Velvet. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals (343 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12205). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Westmere Fire Department, 1741 Western Ave, Westmere, NY 12203 or Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12205.
