It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Monir Victor Barakat (Sleepy Hollow, New York), who passed away on June 21, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Zakieh Barakat and Victor Barakat; and his daughter Dana. He is survived by: his wife Hayat; his son Sam (Karine); his grandchildren, Isabella, Maya, Lara and Rafael; and his siblings, Nazek, Nazih, Ghada and Sana. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dwyer and Michael's Funeral Home (90 N Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Maronite Church (199 N Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Greenwood Union Cemetery (215 North St, Rye, NY 10580).
