O'Connell of Suffern, New York, born in Albany, New York, who passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Tim; his brother William; and his cousins, J. Michael O'Connell and Mary Margaret Scott. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Fina; his sons, Dennis Jr. (Judy), Brian (Lisa), Michael (Regina) and Terrance; his grandchildren, Dr. Caitlin, Olivia (Nelson Collet), Cristin, Liam, Riley, Maggie, Nina and Timothy O'Connell; and his cousins, Dr. Maurice O'Connell and Maureen O'Connell Godlewski.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Chapel (160 Orange Ave, Suffern, NY 10901). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart (129 Lafayette Ave, Suffern, NY 10901). A burial was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at the Ascension Cemetery (160 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY 10952).
As Dennis felt that no one should have to go hungry, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sloatsburg Food Pantry, 81 Washington Avenue, Suffern, New York, or to Villa Marie Claire Hospice, 12 W Saddle River Road, Saddle River NJ.
