We announce the death of Catherine McElhinney of Tarrytown, New York, who passed away on October 1, 2026. Catherine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her father Peter Doherty; and her sisters, Bried and Agnes. She is survived by: her mother Catherine Doherty; her sister Mary; her great grandchildren, Marian (Charles), Kevin Brendan (Hallie), Joanne (Paul) and Meghan Barrett; Christopher, Kevin, Caera, Conor, Tyler, Shanen, Sadie and Emma. She is also survived by her four children, their spouses and her cherished grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Dwyer & Michael's Funeral Home (90 N Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Cabrini of Westchester (115 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522).
Despite a chastisement from her mother for reducing her financial contributions to her parents, Catherine's vision prevailed.
