With sadness, we share the passing of Catherine L. Stamatakis (Canton, Ohio). Catherine, born on February 18, 1926, passed away on October 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Emmanuel "Mike" Stamatakis; and her cousins, Helen Dewey (Pappas) and Dianne Geramita (Cacchione). She is survived by: her daughters, Catherine, Carol Stamatakis (Michael Shklar) of Lempster and Mary Stamatakis (Paul Valachovic) of Morgantown; her grandchildren, Rachel Shklar (Mark Benton) of Columbia, Abraham Shklar (Jensine Junus) of San Diego, Nicholas Valachovic (Sarah Momen) of Morgantown and Sophia Valachovic of Los Angeles, California; her great grandchild Charlotte Benton of Columbia, Missouri.; her godson George Detorakis of Akron, Ohio; her cousins, Cathy Adkins of Waynesburg and Ric Cacchione of Columbus, Ohio; and her close friends, Ellen Linz of Canton, Ohio, Gail Shifman and Lisa Ahern (Buck). She is also survived by other friends in her children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church (251 25th St NW, Canton, OH 44709). A prayer will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
